Aval Upma :
Aval Upma is an easy-to-prepare and delightful breakfast nibble. It is moreover celebrated as Poha Upma in numerous districts of India and it’s made from straightened rice (beaten rice) which has all the goodness of rice. It is a perfect nourishment thing for a kid’s lunch box and one of the most common breakfast formulas in India where rice is one of the primary cultivated cultivation.

Ingredients:
2 mugs Aval (Poha/Flattened Rice/Rice Flakes) |
2 tablespoons Peanuts |
1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds |
1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds |
1 teaspoon Chana Dal (optional) |
1 teaspoon Urad Dal (optional) |
1 squeeze Asafoetida |
1-2 sprigs Curry Leaves |
1 Onion, finely chopped |
1/2 teaspoon ground Ginger |
2 Green Chillies, finely chopped |
1 Tomato, finely chopped |
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder |
1 tablespoon finely chopped Coriander Leaves |
2 tablespoons Cooking Oil |
Salt |
Water |
Directions:
1. Wash aval (poha) in water for 2-3 times. Keep it in a nourishment strainer for 10 minutes to deplete the abundance of water.
2. Warm 2 tablespoons oil in a kadai. Include peanuts and shallow broil them for 1-2 minutes over a moo fire. Deplete them and exchange them to a plate.
3. Include mustard seeds and cumin seeds in the same oil. When seeds start to sputter, include chana dal, urad dal, asafoetida, and curry takes off. Cook until dals gotten to be light brown.
4. Include chopped onion, ground ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté until the onion gets to be translucent.
5. Include chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and salt and blend well. Cook until tomatoes got to be delicate for 2-3 minutes.
6. Include already drenched poha and blend well. Cook for 1 minute.
7. Include shallow-fried peanuts and blend well.
8. Turn off the fire. Scrumptious aval upma is ready.
9. Exchange it in a serving bowl and decorate it with coriander. Serve it with coconut chutney or masala chai.
Tips and Variations:
- You can include lemon juice and powdered sugar for variation.
- Add green chilies and ginger concurring to your taste to make it more or less spicy.
- Sprinkle sev on upma to make it tastier.
- You can too include bubbled potato pieces to it to make it more filling.
